Nigeria - Five people have been killed in Borno when two female suicide bombers detonated devices at a hospital, Bloomberg reports.
The bombs exploded when the women, claiming to be visiting patients, were searched at the hospital entrance.
The blast killed the women, two security guards and another person, Hassan Ibrahim, a member of a vigilante group, said by phone on Saturday from Maiduguri, Borno’s capital.
Several people were injured in the blast in Mule, on the outskirts of Maiduguri, according to Ibrahim.
President Muhammadu Buhari came to office last month vowing to crush a six-year insurgency by Boko Haram. The Islamist group has stepped up attacks at markets and other public places since losing territory earlier this year after a regional military offensive by forces from Nigeria, Cameroon, Niger and Chad.
